Social Work Assistant Team


Social Work Assistant recruitment is an ongoing process here at CF Social Work, because many of our SWA’s go on to become Independent Social Workers. The hands on experience we offer ‘in the field’ is hugely beneficial to anyone looking to progress in the world of social work and add expertise and wisdom to their CV.

The role of our Social Work Assistants is to assist the company’s Independent Social Workers (ISWs) carry out community based and home based 24/7 parenting assessments and therapeutic services. Plus, they also provide social work-related services to children and families as directed by the CF Social Work management team.

As we continue to grow as a company and develop our education department, we also require that our SWA’s provide education-related services to children and families as directed by the CF Social Work & Education management team.

Coaching and Mentoring:

Social Work Assistants cases can involve undertaking a ‘Coaching’ or ‘Mentoring’ type service with young people who are likely to exhibit a number of the following characteristics:

  • Engaged in risk taking behaviours that are significant and or escalating
  • Missing from care and or education
  • Not engaged in employment, education or training
  • At risk of Child Sexual Exploitation
  • Engaged in personal substance misuse
  • Have emotional well being or mental health concerns
  • Involved in gangs/serious youth violence
  • Are not achieving the goals and outcomes set out in their care plans
  • At risk of not making successful transition to adult life


Reverse Residential Assessment work for our Social Work Assistants


Additional Services include:

  • Up to 24/7 intervention in complex family situations (Reverse Residential Assessments)
  • Co-Parenting with children at home on Care Orders
  • Role Modelling and Coaching
  • Independent Living Skills
  • Respite for Parents and Carers
  • Activities to avoid social isolation
  • Activities for children with learning and or physical disabilities (non CQC)
  • Emergency intervention in placement breakdowns
  • Reunification work
  • Other bespoke interventions according to the individual needs of the child, young person and family.
