Reverse Residential Assessment work for our Social Work Assistants

CF Social Work previously offered a successful Family Support Service which through its reputation gained contracts throughout East Anglia, London and the Home Counties to work with children and young people with significant difficulties.

In 2018 CF Social Work undertook a review of the way in which we had previously provided this service, in particular the outcomes we had achieved for young people under this model. Whilst we were satisfied that we had promoted significant change for many families, the outcomes for children and young people were harder to evidence.

As a consequence, our CF Social Work development team created an entirely new and innovative service dedicated to making a difference to this vulnerable group and assist LA’s way in which we believe we can help make a difference to this vulnerable group and assist LA’s to achieve a much higher ratio of positive outcomes. The remodel is totally based on social work concepts, models and practice; the focus is very much current and includes training and workers skilled in the subjects of attachment; sexual abuse; sexualised behaviour; CSE; Trafficking; Drugs and Alcohol; gangs and violence.

CF Social Work operate a robust safer recruitment and induction process to ensure that our Social Work Assistants are safe i.e. hold enhanced DBS’s and are highly skilled to meet the demands of this challenging role.

The successful applicants participate in a 2 day mandatory training event as part of their 12 week induction, facilitated by independent senior social workers and psychologists, before completing their compliance. Regular more specialist, case specific training is undertaken throughout the year to reflect the needs of particular children.

Many of our SWA’s hold Social Work qualifications and or are HCPC Registered.  The entire team is highly skilled to work with children, young people and families in crisis. Profiles of these workers can be made available by request. The SWA team are able to speak several different languages and are from a range of cultural backgrounds.

The workers can maintain a small caseload or work 24/7 with young people who require significant intervention or families in crisis (Reverse Residential Assessment).
